Recycling Facilities The Smurfit Stone Recycling Center, located at 1775 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008, accepts customer drop-off of office paper, plastics 1-7, junk mail, newspapers, magazines, phone books, green glass, brown glass, clear glass, aluminum cans, and tin cans. Paper types do not have to be separated. This no-charge customer drop-off service is offered Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For information concerning customer drop-off or other recycling services offered by Smurfit Stone Recycling please contact them at (678) 403-3900. The Solid Waste Transfer Station, operated by Advanced Disposal Services (ADS) is located at 1897 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008. The ADS Transfer Station is open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for acceptance of certain recyclable materials. The recyclable materials (tires, used motor oil, used antifreeze, car & truck batteries, and electronic devices) must cross the scales and customers do incur standard tip charges, starting with a $7.00 minimum charge for the first 400 lbs of material to be processed at the transfer station. Additional charges will be applied for disposal of select items such as tires, propane tanks and other items designated by ADS due to security requirements and extensive handling and expenses required to process and ship these items. TAG Grinding Services, Inc. vegetative waste recovery center located at 2150 County Services Pkwy accepts yard debris such as grass clippings, limbs, bushes, or leaves. TAG Grinding does charge for this service. For specific information concerning TAG’s disposal rates or other information, please contact their office at (770) 896-3995. Carpet Padding may be disposed of for a fee at the Advanced Disposal Transfer Station located at 1897 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008.
Cell phones, pagers, chargers and their rechargeable batteries are accepted at the Transfer Station for recycling. Keep your eye open for cell phone recycling containers in County Offices in convenient locations.
Construction Debris may be disposed of for a fee at the Advanced Disposal Transfer Station located at 1897 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008.

Please Note: Do not recycle other glass products such as table tops, window panes, headlights, light bulbs, etc. The rule of thumb is, if it is a container with a cap, it is a recyclable type of glass. Others contain additives that make the glass unsuitable for recycling and can actually contaminate a whole load. Landscaping Debris may be disposed of for a fee at the TAG Grinding Services Vegetative Waste Recovery site located at 2150 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008 Yard debris such as grass clippings, limbs, bushes, and leaves for a charge. Hours of operation are Mon - Fri 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sat 8 Please contact TAG Grinding at (770) 432-7193 if you have any questions concerning the recovery of landscaping debris.
Used Motor Oil may be disposed of for a fee at the Advanced Disposal Transfer Station located at 1897 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008. Use automotive motor oil is accepted at the building at the back of the Transfer Station. Maximum container size is 5 gallons. Oil is dumped into a filter at the top of the storage tank. NO 55 GALLON DRUMS ARE ACCEPTED. DO NOT DUMP OIL INTO THE ANTIFREEZE TANK BESIDE THE OIL TANK. Plastic CONTAINERS are accepted. Do not recycle other plastic products such as bubble wrap, styrofoam, styrene (hard clear) plastic, etc. The rule of thumb is, if it is a container with a cap, it is a recyclable type of plastic. Nearly all "bottle-type" containers are either Type 1 or 2 plastic and are readily recyclable and have good markets.
